In 2019, while in seminary, Shawn received a word from the Lord that His people didn’t understand grace because they didn’t understand His law. Three years later, after studying the Torah more and more they discovered the biblical feast days and began studying God’s commands more and more. This led them to see how modern processing strips food of God-given nutrition and how pesticides, additives, and chemicals in everyday products harm the body. Determined to live by God’s design, they transitioned to a natural lifestyle.

Their convictions deepened when Nycki, who had faced preeclampsia in prior pregnancies, was told by doctors there was no way to prevent it. Through prayer and research, Shawn found signs of iron deficiency that had been overlooked. By adding iron-rich foods and a heme-based iron supplement, Nycki’s severe headaches and blood pressure normalized. With God’s mercy, she avoided preeclampsia and safely delivered their third son—an answer to prayer and evidence of God’s wisdom in health.

Their second son, Sincere, also shaped this journey. After switching to formula, he developed painful eczema that steroid creams failed to resolve.
